The middle school girl's basketball game for tonight, Monday, December 7 has been moved to the high school. The game begins at 5:30 PM. All are required to wear a mask and social distance. More tickets are now available using this link https://mid-carolinaathletics.com/teams/events/25470647/tickets Tickets for Thursday night will be made available soon. This game has also been moved to the high school to accommodate more seating for the boy's game.

All VIRTUAL students need to drop off their laptops on Wednesday, December 9 at the cafeteria part of the 6/7 grade circular drive. Drop off between 8:00 AM-9:30 AM Pick-up between 12:00 PM-4:00 PM. Bring their power cord as well. Write their name and grade on a piece of paper when dropping off.

Congratulations to our November Teacher of the Month, Ms. Janna Richardson. Ms. Richardson's peers shared, "She is always well organized, proactive and is rocking the virtual MCMS Academic Team!" 8th Grade Parents, you should have received an important letter from our Counselors around Nov. 21st regarding upcoming IGP (Individual Graduation Plan) meeting with your child to plan for high school. Makeup/New Student Picture Days are November 19 and 20! Students can pick up a form in the front office or go online to order once pictures are taken. Virtual students can again call the office to sign up to come in and have their picture taken if they did not do so in September.

Our Fall Book Fair is here! You can start ordering books online now. See below for the website and the eFair code. Please email me (Stemplin@newberry.k12.sc.us) with any questions. Books will be shipped to the school and sent home with your child. In person Book Fair dates will be November 5th through the 13th. We are doing a “no touch” book fair this year. Students will be allowed to look at the books, and we will place the order for the book. Once the books are shipped to the school, they will be delivered to your child. Thank you for supporting the Mid-Carolina Middle School Library! This is a fundraiser that helps us purchase materials for the library for student use.

Parent-Teacher Conferences on November 2nd: Due to current Covid procedures, parent-teacher conferences will be held by telephone or through Google/Zoom conferences on Monday, November 2nd from 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Report cards will not be given out during these conferences due to students nor guests being on campus. Students will receive their report cards on Thursday, November 5th (Day 1) and Friday, November 6th (Day 2). Students will be recognized and celebrated for their achievements during the first nine weeks. They will bring those certificates home to share with you. All students’ grades can be accessed using Power School. It is very important to schedule a conference if you have any concerns about your child’s academic progress this year. Again options for meetings include a phone conference or a Google/Zoom meeting. Please check your email for the link to sign up for a conference time or contact your child's teachers. Links are available until Thursday, October 29th. If you have any problems signing up, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
